Breezy the neighborhood stray (aka Buddy) survived the past two winters out on his own, with the help of some kind-hearted folks in the neighborhood who would put out food and let him bunk down in their garage. One of the folks felt he deserved a home of his own and we picked him up. Trudy’s cat, Tomasina, missed his pal – they would hang out together on the deck and share cat gossip. Trudy knew she had to bring him back to the ‘hood…..so she adopted him and he is now one pampered puss!

We are pleased to have assisted Nikita’s rescuer, Brad A, with his placement into a new home. Congratulations to all!

Trixie has been adopted! Trixie is a very beautiful and sweet girl, and was a very good momma to Brittany, Bridget and Angelo….and we think Sammy. We are thrilled she has found a home with Shelby K.

Brittany has been adopted! This precious little girl was being fostered by our good friend Judy G. She has fostered all 3 kittens since they came in with their mom, Trixie. When Bridget was recently adopted, Judy realized how attached she’d become to these adorable kittens. She could not bear the thought of parting with the remaining two. Thanks Judy for taking such wonderful care of our “babies” !

Tig- went to live in Danville with Matt Bassett. They were without a cat and loved that he was so big:) thanks for adopting him!

Moses- adopted to Gary Lotspeich. He takes care of someone that lost their cat and was missing their cat. So problem solved:) yeah!

Sweet little Oreo….. was found abandoned and inside the wall at a horse barn when he was only a few weeks old. He was immediately placed in one of our 5-Star foster homes where he received endless amounts of TLC and was nursed back to good health. A friend of the foster family helped with caring for Oreo and fell in love with this wonderful little feline. Who could resist his adorable face? He was adopted at Christmas.

Trekker has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Trekker was a stray who one of our board members was feeding for a year. Not wanting him to go through another cold winter outside, she managed to trap him and get him neutered and vaccinated and used to being inside a house. Trekker has settled into his new home and his playful antics give Evelyn hours of amusement, like the first night he jumped onto the table right into the butter dish!

Missy was reportedly found abandoned. She’s about 8-10 months old, and very beautiful with some Maine Coon features. Missy had a rough start and spent some time in a foster home getting rehabilitated to human touch and affection. She was recently adopted by Suzy in Danville, a knowledgeable cat person, who will help Missy with her continued adjustment.

Augustus and Snickers…….2 of 7 kittens found abandoned together in the woods in Wheelock the end of August when they were about 2 weeks old. They are very precious to their foster mom, who hand raised and bottle-fed these adorable kittens. Now 4 months old, they were adopted on 12/17/08 by Mark and Wendy of Lyndonville. After losing their 2 older cats this past year they were ready to open their hearts and home to these two very active and affectionate kittens. Their foster mom was very attached to both, but especially to “little Gus” who has suffered much trauma in his short life. Both of his siblings died and we were afraid we might lose Gus. Fortunately, he’s a feisty little boy and he pulled through. His foster mom is relieved they have been placed together into such a wonderful new home.

Oreo is the brother to Snickers, Ginger and Pumpkin. He was the smallest of his litter when found abandoned but has overcome his initial obstacles and at 4 months now weighs in at over 7 lbs. Despite his size, he is a “gentle giant”. His foster mom & dad have decided to adopt him, and he now makes his home with 3 dogs and an adult cat. Oreo is a better retriever than the dogs and follows his humans around like a puppy.

Annie is adopted to Michele of NH, thanks for adopting such a precious kitten. Her sister Kim was adopted by Grace of NH and will never lack any loving there! Danny the brother to these lucky gals was adopted by Lorraine and hubby of St Johnsbury. Thanks for adopting these 3 precious kittens.

12/5 Amy and Maria were found abandoned in an empty apt and were picked up and vetted and loved by KAS. They were adopted by Virginia of Danville. Thanks for adopting these two precious girls.

12/5 Cindy came into KAS at the end of October with Amy and Maria. She was totally vetted and adopted today by the Roy family in Barnet. Thanks for adopting this sweet girl!

Both Ginger and Pumpkin have a happy ending. They were found abandoned in a wooded area with 5 other kittens in August. They are both healthy, happy and well socialized. They were adopted together into their new home by a loving young couple on November 16, 2008.

Otis is about a year old, neutered male. He is extremely friendly and has personality-plus-plus-plus. Otis was recently adopted by his new “mom”, Deb, and shares his new home with another cat and 2 dogs. His new “mom” reports Otis is very playful, and even with all his new toys he seems to enjoy unraveling the toilet paper best.

Thelma and Amos are a 9 yr old brother /sister pair that have been waiting for a forever home for a while now and their foster Dad and Mom fell hard for their independent spirit and love how Thelma is not afraid of their 4 pugs and foster pugs. They will remain with Darin and Karen for the rest of their lives.

LUNA…..was found in a trash bag in a dumpster at the White Market on Portland St. in St. Johnsbury on June 30, 2008 by a kind-hearted passerby. A cruelty investigation is still on-going and a $2500 reward has been offered by the HSUS for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible.

Luna is about 10 years old – toothless – and FIV+. She was in tough physical condition when she was found – she’d been severely malnourished and weighed only 5 ¾ pounds. After receiving a lot of love and good nutrition she had put on a pound in a month and her coat was becoming shiny and colorful. Despite all that she’s been through in her life she has a determination and spirit that is uncompromised. She is a very affectionate cat and loves all the attention showered upon her. Her foster “dad” decided to adopt her as she’d worked her charms on him quickly. Being spoiled with treats of salmon her new dad says she was pretty quiet in the beginning but she’s now “firing on all 4 jets”. She has also quickly taken over the house and put her canine companion in his place – she swats at him when he tries to take away “dad’s” attention! She loves to play with her catnip mouse and has made up a game of hide and seek – she hides the mouse and makes “dad” find it for her !

BOOTS is a really cool looking neutered male, approx 8-12 months old and just an absolute all-around nice cat. He was rescued from his family who was moving. Their plans didn’t include Boots and the owner was going to shoot him. A young man in the neighborhood learned of this and took Boots in. After being unsuccessful in his own efforts to place Boots he turned him over to us. Boots was adopted on 8/7/08 by Ron and Sue who have several children, horses and a female toy poodle, Shelly.

FEATHER…….1-2 yr old female, very sweet and pretty blue-eyed calico with possibly some Siamese, has found her new forever home with her foster-mom, Lucy. Feather never made it to the adoption center as Lucy was looking for a new cat and Feather was just too precious to part with.

Miss Bianca……a very active and adorable 6-12 mo old black and gray tiger found her forever home on July 19, 2008 when her new mom, Lisa, came to pick her up. Bianca didn’t have such a good start to her young life – her prior human reportedly dumped her beside a back road with a couple bags of their rubbish. She stayed by the bags for a couple days until one of our best foster moms and cat person extraordinaire, Nancy, found her upon returning from a fishing excursion. Fortunately, for Bianca, her story has a very happy ending.

Marble went to his new home with adopters Sylvia and Leroy on July 7, 2008.

Marble is a handsome and very laid back tiger cat, approximately 2-3 years old. The folks at Morrisons miss him already as he was a favorite at the store.

Sylvia and Leroy recently lost the last of their 4 cats and were ready to open their home and hearts to another purrrrrfect feline. Sylvia saw his picture in the paper and when she met him it was love at first sight! Marble wasn’t too happy with being stuffed into the cat carrier for his trip home as their cats were all quite a bit smaller than Marble, but he was going to have plenty of time to stretch his 4 legs and roam around his new surroundings soon.

Congratulations and whisker kisses to Sylvia, Leroy and Marble, King of the Tigers!
