Budding Friendship: Addie and Domino
Written by Helen Morrison, President, Board of Directors
Okay…so if you want to bring a smile to your face and heart, spend a bit of time with Domino and Addie. Domino is a gorgeous short haired tuxedo boy who came to us about a year and a half ago. He was extremely anxious and unpredictable and it has taken a long time and lots of patience by our incredible volunteers. But now, in the right situation with cat savvy folks, he will be a wonderful kitty boy in a home.
Enter Addie. You may remember her in a previous newsletter. She is a bit over 3 months old, a long haired tuxedo. She came to us with a horrible face wound, probably from a predator. But her incredible care by volunteers and by Dr. Sally, Pati, and Debbie, has worked wonders. Her face, though a bit disfigured, is amazingly well healed. And she is full of the joy of life.
We decided to introduce Addie and Domino. Domino loves other cats, especially kittens. And Addie is fearless…and also loves other cats.
A little bit of holding our breath to see what would happen…and the two of them did just fine together, playing, checking each other out, enjoying each other’s company.
I love it when this happens…when two cats come to the Shelter, don’t know each other at all, and over time become the best of friends.
Perhaps that will happen for Domino and Addie? Addie will fit in anywhere. But Domino will be totally thrilled.
