Baby Boo Blackberry

Meet BlackBerry!

In mid-May, a tiny black kitten was found all alone by one of the wonderful women who cares for local cat colonies. He was only about 7 days old, with his eyes still closed, cold, hungry, and in desperate need of help. No mama cat was nearby, and after waiting and searching, it became clear he had been abandoned. That’s when he came to me and my daughter.

Since then, our days (and nights!) have revolved around bottle feedings every couple of hours, keeping him warm, and making sure he knows he’s safe and loved. He may be tiny, but he already has a huge personality. He loves being held, gives the sweetest little purrs, and has quickly become very spoiled. Honestly, it’s impossible not to spoil and love him.

His eyes are still closed, and he’s still incredibly small and fragile, but he’s already fighting so hard. Watching him grow a little stronger (and bigger!) every day has been amazing.

Taking care of a neonatal kitten is exhausting at times, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. This little guy may have had a rough start, but he’ll never be alone again. He is constantly cuddled, constantly loved, and already has so many people cheering him on.

Update!!! May 22.  Blackberry's eyes are open!!
