Cat of the Month - Julianna
We are looking for a special home for one of our KAS kitties, Julianna. She came to us mid-winter, having been trapped on Cherry St in St. Johnsbury. She is not a typical shelter cat and would be difficult to adopt out as a pet. But she is a pretty little black kitty and deserves a safe home where she will be well cared for. She trusts humans only a little. She hisses and lunges if she feels cornered...but once she sees who it is and calms, she will quiet down and do slow blinks. She does also love to play with toys.
The best situation for her will be as a barn cat or in a home where she will just be a presence around and about. She would first need to be in a “safe room”, in the barn or in a basement, where she can’t get out, and where her food, water, bedding, and litter are. After about a month, when she knows that that is “home”, she could be let out, but continue to be fed and tended in her safe room.
She is spayed, up to date on all her shots, has been dewormed and treated for other parasites.
Who knows, with time, probably a good amount of time, she may become more and more trusting.
Please let KAS know if you can provide such a home or know of someone who could.
