We are excited to share that Kingdom Animal Shelter is offering a new experience in the Northeast Kingdom…..
INTRODUCING CAT YOGA!
WHAT IS CAT YOGA?
Every cat lover should try Cat Yoga!
Cat Yoga is a yoga practice that incorporates cats into the yoga routine, allowing you to bond with feline friends while achieving a state of calm and relaxation.
WHY CATS LOVE YOGA?
Cats are natural yogis. They love to stretch and move their bodies in ways that are similar to yoga poses.
Cats may walk across people's mats, sit on their laps, cuddle up into poses, or simply observe nearby relaxing during the class.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CAT YOGA?
Cat yoga provides numerous benefits for both humans and cats.
On a physical level, cat yoga is a light form of exercise that can help improve balance, flexibility, and coordination. The stretching movements involved in cat yoga poses gently work the muscles while also encouraging mindfulness and focus.
For mental health, the relaxing nature of cat yoga can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Petting and playing with cats releases oxytocin, the “feel good” hormone which boosts mood.
Cute cat antics and purring also induces smiles and laughter, assisting with relief of stress and tension.

Here is a description of the first Cat Yoga that was held on Sept. 8.
It was an afternoon filled with cats, joy and laughter as Samantha Hudson RYT led the Cat Yoga class at Kingdom Animal Shelter.
The cats did their best to get participants to stretch and pose to pet them….Samantha led the group through a variety of poses
to release stress and tension and everyone left having made new friends and feeling little lighter and happier.
Our next Cat Yoga class is planned for Sunday October 13th, 3-4:30pm. If you would like to join us and try Cat Yoga you can sign up by RSVP to 802-751-5663.
Class is by Donation.
We look forward to seeing everyone in October!
