Spotlight on Goldie
-Helen Morrison
Goldie, Goldie, Goldie….so named because of her beautiful golden eyes. She is a petite girl, upwards of 15 years old, with long, silky white fur. Goldie’s golden eyes don’t see. She has cataracts. And we think she is deaf. She came to us in mid-July, a stray in a nearby town.
A family took her in…but there were kids and other dogs and cats, and it was too unnerving for a blind girl. But once in the Shelter, where she has her own spacious room, where we keep everything always in the same place so she can find her bed and food and water and litter box, she is so content and peaceful and happy. Volunteers spend lots of time with her…approaching her softly and carefully, touching her gently and slowly…and she loves it all, making biscuits and doing head butts. We so want a quiet home for Goldie, perhaps a retired person who is home a lot…and would love to have her on their lap, for lengthy petting sessions…and who would be sure to keep things that she needs and wants convenient and consistently in the same place…for this very sweet, sightless girl. Would you consider giving Goldie such a very special home?
We would love that.
