Thank you

As part of our KAS family tradition, on behalf of the Board, it is my honor to wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving and a very happy upcoming holiday season.
This year has been tough for many people in our area with the 2 major floods in July. Some of our volunteers, including myself, experienced catastrophic flooding. Thankfully the Shelter fared well, although there was major flooding just to the East of the Shelter. Dog Mountain was severely impacted, Fairbanks Scales lost part of its parking lot, Papa Tirozzi's had catastrophic flooding inside the restaurant, and a good part of the Spaulding district Rd along with some houses got washed away. All of this just within a mile or so of the Shelter, we are so thankful that all was well for us.
Our hearts are full of thanks for all our wonderful volunteers. The people who show up every day for the Morning Rise and Shine as well as the evening crew that comes for Tuck In. The folks that help with adoptions and those that help advertise the Shelter and help promote the cats. The people who help put out this newsletter every month are a true labor of love. The many that come to help with our fundraisers every year keeps everything financially functioning. Each person is a cog in the KAS machine of kindness that helps so many cats and local families in our area.
Many of our volunteers wear several different hats and help with multiple jobs and activities for which we are very grateful.
We are so thankful for all our donors all year long. Without this financial support, we would not be able to continue. Many thanks also to all of the families that have adopted from us. Making space for a homeless cat in their home is a wonderful thing to see all year long.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
