Tickle Your Funny Bone
- Helen Morrison, Board President

Oh, My….do we have a fun surprise for you!!!
Let me explain.
I am not a huge follower of Social Media.  For instance, I rarely look at my own FaceBook page.
But….I do look at the Shelter FaceBook page, often several times a day.  Our Social Media Team does such an incredible job, updating it on events, available cats, adopted cats, community service announcements.  And they are always so upbeat and colorful and fun.
So, yes, I totally enjoy looking at our page.
In doing so, however, I have gotten hooked on something.  Always, before I go to our FB page, there is an offering of Cat Videos.  They are totally addictive.  Some come from YouTube…some are just a delightful array, with a theme.  Some are from Simon’s Cat.  (If you don’t know Simon’s Cat, you are missing a treat.  The originator totally knows cats…their behavior, their interactions.  They are simple line drawings, but so, so good.)
Anyway, I cannot resist watching these cat videos…because they are funny, they are so “cat”, and they make me laugh, almost every day.
After all, we all know that a laugh a day keeps the gloom away.

Our wonderful volunteer, Christine Nockels, spends some of her time working at Catamount Arts.  Catamount Arts is offering a Cat Video Fest, on Aug. 1, 2, 3, and 5.  Ten percent of the proceeds will come to Kingdom Animal Shelter, to help with the  care of our sweet feline charges.  I am so psyched.  I may have to go to every showing.
The opening day, Aug. 1…we will have special refreshments offered….cat cupcakes and cookies by Sheila.  Sheila is an amazing baker, with outrageously cute decorations.  And we will have punch and other goodies.

So…here is the link to this wonderful event…..and a trailer that you can watch.  I bet, as hard as you try, you cannot suppress a smile.

Come, enjoy, have fun, lighten your heart.

See you there!!
