Happy Birthday, Wendy!!
-Christine Fournier, Volunteer
When I spent some time with Wendy last night decorating for her party and introducing her to her new Birthday outfit….she whispered to me…
“Do you think I will find my forever person tomorrow?”
I replied with a soft pet and a kiss “I don’t know Wendy, just be your sweet, cuddly self and the right person will find you.”
She then replied “What if people think I am too fat?” to which I replied “More of you to love sweetie, we all have some rolls here and there.”
She was happy after that and pranced around in her glitter collar enjoying her new pink digs.
Wendy’s Story:
Wendy originally arrived at Kingdom Animal Shelter in 2018, when she was found as a stray by a community member.
She was adopted by the woman who had found her and lived with her until January of 2023, when her person had to go into a nursing home and eventually passed away.
Wendy transitioned to a family member’s home where there were other pets and unfortunately the arrangement didn’t work out so Wendy found herself back at Kingdom Animal Shelter alone and looking for a forever home.
Wendy is a volunteer favorite.
She is sweet, easy going, calm and relaxed.
She loves to eat and snuggle. We have been helping her with her weight loss so that is something that would need to be monitored but is very easy to do.
She loves people and company.
She is a great companion in the kitchen and would love to watch you cook or she could just as easily crawl into your lap in front of a fireplace for a reading session and a snuggle.
Wendy has lived with other animals and gets along well with our senior gentleman Cosmos at the shelter. She would love to be your one and only, or might get along with another easy going relaxed pet.
If you or someone you know is looking for a gentle, sweet kitty please let them know about Wendy.
Happy Birthday Wendy! Hoping all your wishes come true!
