A Wish too Far?  (Our Four Special Girls)
-Helen Morrison

Sometimes you have this aching wish that a certain wonderful thing could happen.  But then you think, how could it possibly ever happen?  It is just so far-fetched.  And yet…and yet ... what would we be, without wishing for good things to happen…and maybe making a little nudge toward it happening?

Last January, our trapper spent months trapping eleven abandoned cats and kittens at a foreclosed-on house.  We housed them all in condos in one of our larger rooms in the Shelter.  They were all semi-feral, some closer to feral.  They had just lived alone too long, some perhaps all their lives.  They were between 4 months old and about a year old.
Three of them were a bit unnerving in their growling and lunging:  Pixie, Mama Bear, and Katsura.
Two sets of kittens went to different foster homes where they were socialized  (Beauregard and Chauncy, and Dot and Dash).  One set has gone home (Beau and Chancy).

In the Shelter we have these four fabulous sisters.  We aren’t sure they are really sisters…but they certainly grew up together…and they are so funny to watch.  Mama Bear and Katsura are in one colony room.  Pixie and Audrey are in another colony room.

We often leave the doors to each open, so they can all be out in the lobby and visit one another in their rooms.  Mama Bear always rushes in to say hi to Pixie.  Mama Bear is quite skittish and wary…but she sure does love Pixie.  Pixie isn't quite sure she wants that much loving.  But it is quite cute and funny.  Katsura and Mama Bear play together…and cuddle…and enjoy one another, for sure.  But Katsura, who once had a warning sign on her condo in the early days, is just a hoot.  She is very affectionate, winds around your legs, rolls over for petting…just can’t get enough human touch.  How far she has come!!!
So…here’s the wish…the dream.  Wouldn’t it be awesome if someone would adopt all four girls together?  I mean, how joyous would that be!!!  They are so funny and fun together…they would be constant entertainment…with a few of those challenges of befriending shy cats that cat lovers love.
What do you think?  Are you willing to give them the opportunity to be all together?  Wouldn’t that be just awesome?
