The Alfie Chronicles

Picture
Picture

Many of you will remember Alfie, our wonderful orange feline boy who was with us quite a while.  One of the things we learned about him while he was with us was that, though he often didn’t get along with other adult cats particularly well, he did seem fascinated by kittens and wanted to be their friend and protector.
Alfie was adopted by Ellen Moore and family on May 1, 2020.  He joined two dogs, along with his human family.  One of the canines is a very gentle and very large St. Bernard.  Alfie didn’t seem cowed by either dog, and was caught on camera batting at the St. Bernard’s tail.  Alfie helped the Moore daughter with her studies during stay-at-home schooling and even had a cameo in a movie the kids made about the pandemic in Vermont.
The Moores, knowing that Alfie has a special place in his heart for kittens, recently decided to get Alfie his very own kittens...two adorable orange mini-me’s.

As Ellen Moore reports:
“Because you guys said he was terrible with adult cats but great with kittens we decided that he needed some kittens. It definitely took some getting used to and it’s been hysterical. “

A letter from Alfie-

“Hello. It’s Alfie.

I know you all have been missing me.

I thought I would let you know how it’s been ....

First. When I was at the shelter, they said I did not ‘show well’ - I have NO idea what they meant. I was great. Hissing, flat ears, low growl ... I was charming.

So. They brought me home. I was not completely sure.

I kept a lookout. As you can see they were trying to bribe me. Possibly trap. I was stealth.

Then. You are not going to believe this.

There was a girl. She was snuggly. I found my new bed.

Then. Covid. I was homeschooled.

I was a huge help.

I forgot to mention. Someone forgot to tell the D..O..G.. SSS!!

Don’t worry. He’s more scared of me.

Now Alfie is happy with his two new charges, kittens of his own.  He is a most excellent kitten sitter.

It looks like Alfie has found his Heaven on Earth.
