Spring Chucky Emergency Fund Appeals Letter
Given these very unusual times that are going to put stress on the finances of many families, we will not be sending out our annual Spring emergency fund appeal letter. If things should ease up, we may send it later. If you are so inclined and feel that you can still donate, please feel free to do so by sending in that donation to Kingdom Animal Shelter, 1161 Portland St., St. Johnsbury, Vermont 05819 and put in the memo “Chucky Fund”. Or you can donate online here.
Recently, we received a Persian kitty named Percy. She is two years old and had a hole in her soft palette. In addition, her epiglottis didn’t close properly over the opening to her trachea. Because of these, she would get food up in her nasal passages, and was at risk of aspirating food into her lungs, which could lead to pneumonia. Using the Chucky Fund, we took her over to Peak Veterinary Specialists in Burlington, where they surgically repaired the hole in her soft palette and lessened the risk of her aspirating food. She is now a much happier girl, eating up a storm without incident. And...she has been adopted by Susannah Allen of E. St. Johnsbury and is enjoying all the love and care a forever home can bring.
