February 2021 Adoptions
Archie
Archie went home with his new family, which includes 3 other “kittens” under the age of one year, all adopted from Kingdom Animal Shelter.
“Archie slept well, ate well and is beginning to be introduced to his new siblings. The adopters commented on how sweet he is. He is a real cuddler! Teri woke up at one point last night with Archie on her neck!”

Obi
Obi lived with his foster for almost three and a half years, with a challenging intestinal issue. That was resolved at the end of 2020 with surgery and he was adopted by his foster on Valentine’s Day, 2021, where he can continue his life with his best friends, Smokey Shadow and Blissful Spirit.

Cali
March 1: Cali has now been home for 3 weeks. Cali joined Christy, Calvin, an infant William and a dog named Diesel.
Cali is now called Ali. Overall, Ali is doing great, she has definitely come out of her shell, she is loved, and the family is very happy with her. Ali is described as "so much fun and the perfect addition to our family."
Initially Ali was a bit reserved and appeared to be nervous around Diesel, hissing when he got too close. Now, they are doing great and are playful with one another. Ali and Diesel play chase around the house and Ali will look for Diesel around the house. Ali is known to walk right under Diesels belly. They lay close to each other but do not cuddle with one another.

Ali enjoys her baby brother William. Ali does go into his crib and cuddles with him. Ali seems to like William and actually sleeps in his crib at times. Ali enjoys spending time in Williams day crib, as she can hide behind the side mesh of the crib, but can see everything going on in her home.
Ali is eating well (and wishes she could have more) and is using the litter box with no issues.
Some of Ali's favorite toys are the laser pointer, a feather toy with a bell, dog toys, and the baby's toys (especially rattles), and she loves her cat tower. Ali is very affectionate with her new family and sleeps with them every night.
A couple of minor issues are that Ali loves to attack and play with the plants in the home. They are all cat safe plants but she does chew them. The second issue is that Ali steals and plays with Williams pacifiers. We talked about a couple of solutions to try for the plant issue and the pacifier issue.
Ali is a loved member of the family.
Sammie
Feb. 9: We hope this email finds you well! Sammie is venturing out of the room, but we are keeping him in there overnight with all of his toys for now. We don’t want to overwhelm either Sammie or Luna with any “unsupervised” interactions. Bruce (the dog) is fine with everyone, but we expect it will take a little time for the 2 kitties to get used to each other.
We are definitely keeping an eye on Sammie’s food and water intake, as well as his litter box. So far he seems to be handling all of the changes without affect, but we will keep watching to make sure.
Sammie still loves to play, and has many toys, but he is also a great snuggler. He has a great purr and loves head butts. We are so happy he seems to be settling in ok, and we will keep slowly introducing him to Luna so the whole house will be comfortable.
Feb. 11 Just wanted to send you a picture of Sammie getting comfortable on the bed in the master bedroom. We’ve been letting him out all day with the others and its still a little tense but they’re getting used to each other i.e. ( Luna & Sammie) Bruce sniffs him and Sammie just sniffs back. So no problems there.

Feb. 19 Good morning Helen, just checking in with you about Sammie. He and Luna are getting along a lot better. I think she has finally accepted he’s not going anywhere. She actually licks his face now. The only time she gets annoyed with him is when she’s in her house or eating. He started grooming me on occasion. He might think I’m dirty. All in all we are very thankful for Sammie coming into our lives. Thank you.
Feb. 24 Good morning Helen,
I thought i would email you with an update on Sammie. He’s sleeping in my lap for the first time this morning. I think he’s settling down and definitely getting comfortable here. Here’s a picture of him sleeping.
