Giving Tuesday – Chucky Fund in Support of Ozzie and Dozer

This year, Giving Tuesday will be held on November 28th.  We will be running a Facebook fundraiser and accepting donations through our website and other methods that can be found on our website here.

Funds from this year's drive will go into our Chucky Fund to help support shelter cats with significant challenges.  Ozzie and Dozer are two such shelter cats.

Ozzie

Ozzie is a lovely kitten who likes to be held and to nuzzle into one's neck like a baby. She came from a neglected barn cat colony and was picked up by a kind neighbor who saw that she needed help and special care.

Ozzie has been struggling with nasal polyps that make it difficult to breathe. Surgery was performed to remove existing polyps and she is breathing much better but there will always be a chance for them to come back and require future surgery.

Dozer

Dozer is an extremely playful kitten that came to the shelter with hyperflexion of the hind-end, a strange gait to his walk and inability to control his bladder.  X-rays and neurological examinations did not point to any medical intervention and it appears Dozer will just be a special needs kitty due to his bladder control issues.  He bounds around, loves life and is a very happy little man.

Here you can see Dozer wearing his stylish diaper.  He is currently being fostered by a wonderful volunteer who is working very hard to manage his special needs and provide a loving home for him to be in.

We are looking forward to sharing more about Ozzie and Dozer during the drive.

Happy Holidays to All,
Caleb Stone, Board of Directors
