Adoptions for the Month of October

October was quite a month.  It was this funny/sweet alignment of some very special, sweet adult cats and quite a number of kittens ready to go home.  We also coordinated with Subaru New England’s “For the Love of Pets”.  For each cat or kitten adopted in the month of October, Subaru NE will donate $100.  We adopted out 25 cats and kittens, which may be a monthly record for us.  We were especially lucky because we were able to adopt out almost all kittens in sibling pairs or to a home where there was already a young cat-friendly cat or a cat-friendly dog.  We try to find these situations because kittens do best, are the most well-adjusted for life, if they have been able to have another of their species with them as they grow and mature.
(If you are interested, included in this newsletter is an article on Why Kittens Should be Adopted in Pairs.)

“Of course you can use our photo! I asked Milo what he thought of it and he decided it was a good idea. They're doing really well and Max was licking my cheek today. I also love how Milo purrs every time you get near him and he kneads on like everything 😅 They're definitely enjoying it here.”

Valentina, now Evie, went home to a new canine friend, Hemmy

“Evie’s adjusted so well, she’s starting to sleep in bed and snuggle with us on the couch. We couldn’t have imagined having adopted a sweeter girl and are so thrilled she’s found a home with us. This was a match made in heaven! “

Mack and Noelle went home to two new Maine Coon feline friends

"Kittens are wonderful. They remain separated but we are giving treats and feeding both sets of cats at the door at the same time for positive reinforcement. Our cats are not hissing or growling at all. Very curious. Trying to get in and see them! We want the meeting to be as positive as possible.  I truly think it will be good and that they will grow on each other. The kids have renamed the kittens to Luna and Henry. Now that we have spent time with them these seem to be the names that suit their personalities best!"

"The boys love the kittens so much, and of course it was love at first sight for me!!  So sweet and friendly. They are very energetic at play. They’ve met my dog Ueli and have been nose to nose and have checked each other out. They are pure joy!  Thank you!!"

Margo joins her new cat friend, Mouse
Picture
"Margo chases her tail all the time and constantly does summersaults when playing with her toys.  She loves feather toys and ping pong balls.  They are everywhere!  She is such a lovable kitten and loves curling up in a blanket on my lap and is a purr factory. I am so grateful she is part of my family.  She brings me so much joy and melts my heart with her sweetness." Margo joined a friendly adult cat, Mouse. They do play together, but Margo sometimes hisses at her new playmate, since she is still a bit insecure about his size.

Veda joined her new cat friend, Finnegan
Picture
"Veda and our adult cat Finnegan cuddle and play. She's the sweetest little girl.  She seems to love it here and we just love her to pieces. She is a snuggly baby. I hope all of her sisters have settled in well."
