You can take a sneak peek at the new shelter via this great video that KATV did. We appreciate all the support of our donors and contractors who have made the dream of our new facility become a reality!

Our renovation project is on time and we are so excited that we'll be able to move into our new facility in November! We could not do this without all the contractors and sub contractors working together to keep us on schedule. We really appreciate all of them. We are also forever grateful to all of our generous donors. We've raised over $108,000 of our project goal of $150,000!
If you would like to help us close the gap on our fundraising goal, use the donate button below. We treasure every penny of support from all of you!
We've had so many wonderful donations, and every donation, no matter how small is appreciated! We wanted to give special thanks to our top donors to the project:

September 2018 Update
We continue to make good progress on the renovation of our new building at 1161 Portland St in St Johnsbury. Painting has begun on the interior of the building, the cat castles are being worked on and various rooms are getting FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) board which will make the areas where the cats are housed much easier to keep clean.
You may have received our recent appeals letter requesting donations for our capital campaign. We still need to raise about $50,000 to reach our goal of raising $150,000 for this project. If you would like to donate and help us reach our goal, you may mail a check to Kingdom Animal Shelter, PO Box 462, St Johnsbury, VT, 05819 or you may donate via our secure website at https://www.kingdomanimalshelter.com/building-fund.html.
We are so grateful to everyone who has donated to the project thus far. The new shelter will be a much better facility for the cats and kittens who are in our care while they wait for their forever families to adopt them.
We wanted to correct one item in our appeals letter. We accidentally stated that Mr. Earl Ashcroft, who generously gave a bequest to Kingdom Animal Shelter, was from Monroe, NH. He was from East Ryegate, VT. We apologize for this mistake.

August 2018 Update:
The progress for our new home is coming along very well. The drywall is almost completely installed so it's really starting to take shape. Next we'll move on to paint, finish work, flooring, and other details. Anyone who has done renovation or construction knows, it's those finish details that can take time, but it's worth it in the end.
We are nearing the $100,000 mark raised out of the $150,000 goal we have for our "Kingdom for our Cats" Capital Campaign. It's great to see so many individuals and businesses support us to make our dream a reality. Every day we work in our current facility we think about how much better it will be for the cats, our volunteers, and prospective adopters to be in the new facility later this fall.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please use the donate button below to donate securely online, or you can mail a check to: Kingdom Animal Shelter, PO Box 462, St Johnsbury, VT 05819. We certainly appreciate donations of any amount, however, donations of $1,000 or more qualify for special "Recognition Opportunities". If you would like more information on those opportunities, please email us at [email protected]. Additionally, we've been working on a wish list of items we'd love to have in the new facility. Although the list is not yet complete, you can view it online at http://www.kingdomanimalshelter.com/building-fund-wish-list.html and either donate specific items or money for the items.

July 2018 Update:
Since the middle of June, construction crews have been in full swing at our new facility on Portland Street. The interior front half of the building will be renovated, so the first job was to remove all the interior walls to give us a "clean slate" for the shelter. Additional insulation was added to the exterior walls and to the ceiling to make the building more efficient. In the last week, the interior walls have started to take shape and plumbers and electricians have started to do rough in work (put electrical and plumbing into the interior of the walls, floors, etc. but it's not hooked up to anything or operational). We're very excited to see the progress being made each day. Things are on track to have the renovation completed in the late fall and we can't wait to be able to open the facility as our new home!
Our fundraising goal for the "Kingdom for our Cats" Capital Campaign is to raise $150,000 from individuals and businesses, in addition to the $100,000 the Board of Directors has allocated to the project from a bequest. We're happy to announce that we've been able to raise about $85,000 towards our goal of $150,000 in donations! With about $65,000 left to raise, we would love any support you can give to our capital campaign. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please use the donate button below to donate securely online, or you can mail a check to: Kingdom Animal Shelter, PO Box 462, St Johnsbury, VT 05819. We appreciate all your support and can't wait to show off our new facility later this year!

June 2018 Update:
We're very excited about the progress that is being made to renovate our new building at 1161 Portland St in St Johnsbury, Vermont, into a "Kingdom for our Cats".
Our renovation plans are in place and we've secured both state and local permitting to begin the work. Dana Young at Dana Young Construction has generously donated his General Contractor fees to help us keep the budget down and we'll be using local sub contractors for the renovation project.
Our plans include three cat colony rooms where cats can live together in a larger area, a meet and greet room for potential adopters to meet cats, and an adoption room which will include "cat castles" where cats can be housed individually, but in an area larger than the typical condos we currently use. We will also have a specific area for intake, isolation and sick cats to better isolate those cats from the general cat population. All of this will help make the new shelter a great place for potential adopters to come find a loving companion and also a less stressful environment for the cats until forever homes are found for them.
We are putting together a "wish list" of items we will need for the renovation such as specific plumbing fixtures, primer, etc. so that interested parties can purchase items or businesses can donate or provide discounts for items that we will need for the renovation. We will post this on our website as soon as it is available.
We need to raise approximately $150,000 as a part of our "Kingdom for our Cats" capital campaign to prepare the building for use as an animal shelter. If you would like to help us by donating to the capital campaign, please use the donate button below to donate to our building fund. The kitties thank you for your tax deductible donation!

February 2018 Update:
We are very excited to tell you about the progress we're making at our new building, located at 1161 Portland Street in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
After closing on the building, our focus turned to replacing the roof. We are pleased that the shingles all made it up before the snow came this winter. We also replaced the front windows, which will help keep the building warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
We recently hired Tektonika Studio Architects, Inc. from Stowe, Vermont to help us with many aspects of the renovations that will make it possible for us to utilize the facility for our new home, allowing us to better serve the homeless animal population in our community.
Kingdom Animal Shelter needs to raise approximately $150,000 to prepare the building for use as an animal shelter. Please use the donate button below to donate to our building fund. The kitties thank you for your tax deductible donation!
In addition to monetary donations, we would love to hear from you if you have experience in capital campaigns or construction and would like to donate your time or advice to our project. If you are interested, please email us at [email protected].
