Update on X-Ray room/Radiology Suite
Andrea and I are so happy to have the Radiology Suite up and running now and several of the Shelter cats and kittens have already benefited! We've been able to do X-ray evaluations for walking and stance concerns on one gal. Another special boy with a heart murmur has had baseline chest and abdomen x rays for size of heart and other major organs. And we were able to quickly respond to one kitten's upset stomach and intestinal tract to see that, yes indeed, she ate some clay litter and needed a bit of help in passing all that out of her!
Having the ability to do x ray evaluations at the Shelter is one more 'tool in the tool box' for being able to know how to help our special Shelter friends. By being able to dig a little deeper into issues they may present with, we can be quicker to respond to their needs and comfort, know when one should be referred to an outside hospital or specialist and, so importantly, have more information for their adopting Forever Family when they move into their new homes.
We're so grateful to have this for the Shelter and want to thank Dr. Hailey Gentile and Newport Veterinary Hospital for helping to make this happen. The Radiology Suite is Sweet!
