** UPDATE August 22, 2017 **
Simba is doing very well in his foster home. He loves to be petted, purrs and rolls over for a belly rub. He even caught a mouse, which he was very proud of! The doctors had to take about a one inch wide section of skin from his shoulder and turn it around onto his face to ensure he would have good blood flow and that the skin wouldn't die. This makes him look a bit like Franken-kitty with all the stitches, but you wouldn't know it from his great disposition. Eventually the fur will grow in, and because the skin came from his back, the fur in that area of his face will be a bit longer than his usual facial fur. But, that won't stop Simba from being a very happy cat who loves to cuddle, and who will soon be looking for the forever home he deserves.
