Tony Comes Home
Over the past several months, we have been in touch with a shelter in upstate New York who was searching for a gentle, caring, comfortable placement for Tony. Tony had been diagnosed with a brain tumor and the New York Shelter was unable to find a quiet comfortable foster for Tony. Tony arrived at Kingdom Animal Shelter on Thursday, April 1, and was settled into a spacious and bright room in our medical suite. The floor of his room was covered with soft blankets, even a heating pad, a large flat litter box for seniors, a special elevated food bowl, a bubbling water fountain, and toys. Because of Tony’s condition, he walks in circles and sometimes seems confused. At other times, he enjoys a stroll about his big space and a gentle petting by our volunteers. He has even begun to play with the broom while “room service” cleans. We have him stable with various medications. And we intend to keep him comfortable and happy for his remaining time on this earth. It feels very good to give him loving end-of-life care and we are very grateful to the New York shelter for entrusting him to KAS.
